Mr. Schauble joined Nephila in 2004 as a Managing Principal and moved to San Francisco in 2010 to set up Nephila Advisors, LLC. Mr. Schauble is also a Director of Nephila Capital Ltd. and Nephila Holdings Ltd. Mr. Schauble’s primary responsibilities include investor relations, strategic and business development projects and oversight of Nephila’s weather fund.
Mr. Schauble began working in re/insurance in New York in 1993 as a broker for Marsh and Guy Carpenter. He left in 1996 to join Goldman, Sachs & Co. in their Risk Markets group, where he spent six years working on development and distribution of catastrophe and weather-linked products. Mr. Schauble joined XL Capital in 2003 and was head of marketing for the weather risk management business.
Mr. Schauble attended Harvard College and received his B.A. in Economics in 1995; he wrote his senior thesis to explore investing in bonds linked to property catastrophe reinsurance risk. He served as a Director of The Climate Corporation (2007-20012), and MetroMile (2009-2011). He has been a Director of Ceres (a non-profit devoted to sustainable capitalism) since 2011 and a Director of Advisen Ltd (an insurance analytics business) since 2014.
Tom Hutton
Tom Hutton is Managing Partner of XL Innovate, a recently formed venture capital fund focused on developing new businesses related to insurance, risk management, and financial technology. He has been an entrepreneur and investor in the sector for many years, and served as a member of XL’s Board of Directors and Chairman of its Enterprise Risk Committee from 2009-2011. XL Innovate seeks investments that can be highly valuable for XL Catlin and its clients, including those that address new and underserved risks, those that apply new techniques for underwriting and managing risks, and those particularly creative ideas that may be capable of redefining risk finance and management.
Tom’s career has included a period at McKinsey and Company as a consultant from 1986-1990, followed by a decade as start-up CEO of an insurance analytics business called Risk Management Solutions, (RMS). RMS has played a strong and innovative role in helping the industry to address complex natural catastrophe risks through the application of scientific and engineering-based risk models, throughout the world. The RMS experience provided Tom with a breadth of experiences and relationships that continue to be applicable in his current role. Following RMS, he was affiliated as a Venture Partner with investment firms including Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, and Trident Capital, before forming his own venture capital investment firm, Thompson Hutton, LLC.
Tom has helped to start and grow a number of companies, including RMS, Montpelier Re (reinsurance), Claim IQ (automobile claims technology), Finaplex (wealth management software) SoFi (student loan refinancing and other consumer finance products), and most recently New Energy Risk (insured performance warranties for clean energy technology, formed in partnership with XL Group). From 2006-08, he served as CEO of White Mountains Re, a global reinsurer. Tom has served as a Director of several public companies, including Montpelier Re, Safeco (insurance), Jefferson Smurfit (paper) and XL Group, plc.
Tom was raised in Seattle and Greenwich, Connecticut, and graduated with AB and MS degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his family are interested in environmental issues, and are active sailors and skiers. They live in Atherton, California, just south of San Francisco.
Richard Booth
Richard Booth is a senior advisor and board member at insurance, technology and financial services companies. Previously, Booth was vice chairman of Guy Carpenter. Earlier he served as vice chairman, transition planning and chief administrative officer of American International Group (AIG) and before that was chairman/CEO of HSB Group. Prior to this, he held progressively senior positions in the insurance industry. Booth is a CPA, CLU, ChFC and a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Leadership Fellow. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Hartford Barney School of Business in Connecticut.
VJ Dowling
Mr. Dowling serves as Managing Partner of Dowling & Partners Securities, LLC, which he co-founded in January 1990. In addition, Mr. Dowling is the Editor of that firm’s weekly insurance research publication, the IBNR Weekly. Mr. Dowling began his career with A.J.B. Zunser and Co. in 1982 as a junior insurance stock analyst. He joined Fox-Pitt Kelton in 1983 and was admitted to the FPK partnership in 1986. Mr. Dowling received a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Arvind Parthasarathi

Arvind Parthasarathi is a founder and the CEO of Cyence. Previously, he was President of YarcData LLC pioneering an analytics platform for data discovery and now part of Cray Inc. Before that, Arvind was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Master Data Management at Informatica Corporation where he led a global team building big data management and analytics solutions for various industries including insurance and financial services. Arvind started his career in data at Oracle Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
George Ng, PhD

George Ng, a founder and Chief Technology Officer, leads major research projects and initiatives at Cyence. Previously, he was the Chief Data Scientist at YarcData. George has also worked as a Research Scientist at DARPA and US-CERT and as faculty at American University. He received his PhD from UC Irvine and B.A. from UC Berkeley, both in Economics.
Akin Dirik

Akin Dirik is the Vice President of Engineering at Cyence and has over 25 years of enterprise software development experience. Previously, Akin was Vice President of Engineering at Informatica, where he led global teams responsible for the development of Informatica's flagship data integration product. Earlier, with Oracle Corporation, he led efforts to develop business intelligence products. Akin has a degree in Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
Adam Carson
CFO
Adam Carson joined Cyence in May 2016 as Vice President, Finance and Operations. His last role was Vice President, Finance and Investor Relations at Barracuda Networks. Adam's prior experiences include working with venture capital backed companies and holding roles of increasing responsibility at both Intuit and General Electric. He holds a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Brown University.

Jennifer Livingstone has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry working for AIG in a variety of management roles within the commercial and consumer lines business units. Her experience in underwriting, sales & marketing, analytics and operations brings perspective and relationships from diverse markets with positions based in the New York City, London, San Francisco and Los Angeles markets. Jennifer is a graduate of The College of William and Mary.

Marina Grebenkova drives the product direction and roadmap at Cyence and has over 10 years of experience bringing enterprise grade products to market. Previously, she was Director of Product Management at Informatica leading global product management for the company’s market leading Data Quality software suite. Prior to Informatica, she held various positions at a number of technology startups. She has a BSc in Business from Letterkenny Institute of Technology, Ireland and an MSc in Computing from University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.

Misti Lusher leads global marketing for Cyence and has 15 years of experience (including three startups) building marketing programs from the ground up or bringing them to the next level to successfully drive top-line revenue growth and create a strong company brand. Most recently with Intel as a Senior Director of Technical Marketing, Misti has also worked at YarcData, Informatica, Oracle and Aprimo. She has a B.A. in Linguistics from UCLA.

Kittu Kolluri joined NEA in 2006 as a General Partner, he focuses on information technology and energy technology investments. Prior to NEA, Kittu held senior leadership roles at NetScreen, Neoteris, Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), along with co-founding Healtheon/WebMD. Kittu earned a B.Tech. (M.E.) from IIT, Madras, India, and an M.S. in Operations Research from SUNY, Buffalo, NY.

Marc Goodman is the New York Times best-selling author of FUTURE CRIMES, a global strategist and consultant focused on the profound change technology is having on security, business and international affairs. He is the founder of the Future Crimes Institute and currently serves as the Chair for Policy, Law and Ethics at Silicon Valley’s Singularity University. His IT-related professional experience includes the Central Intelligence Agency, the White House, the United Nations, and the law firm of Skadden Arps. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Sean is now also an affiliate at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Cooperation.
